Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has declared that he is ready to sacrifice his life for the defence of Iran. In a strong message posted on social media, Pezeshkian said more than 14 million Iranians have already registered their willingness to give their lives to protect the country.
He wrote: “More than 14 million proud Iranians have so far registered to sacrifice their lives to defend Iran. I too have been, am, and will remain ready to give my life for Iran.”
The announcement comes as tensions with the United States and Israel continue to rise. It follows a government campaign through text messages and state media, urging citizens, especially young people, to volunteer for national defence. The massive response reflects strong public mobilisation in the face of external threats, including recent warnings from US President Donald Trump.
President Pezeshkian’s statement shows unity and determination at the highest level. Supporters view it as a powerful example of leadership and national spirit during difficult times.
The large number of volunteers, nearly 14 million out of Iran’s population of about 90 million, highlights the deep patriotic feelings among the Iranian people. Officials say this surge demonstrates the nation’s resolve to defend its sovereignty and independence.
