Spain has strongly praised Pakistan’s mediation efforts in helping secure the recent two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran. Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares expressed support for Pakistan’s constructive role and said it could pave the way for lasting peace in the Middle East.
Speaking to the media, the minister welcomed the ceasefire as a positive step that brings renewed hope for the region. He emphasised that diplomacy remains the best way to resolve conflicts. Albares also stressed the need to include Lebanon in the peace process to achieve broader stability.
“We will spare no resources to support Pakistan’s mediation efforts and help diplomacy achieve a breakthrough,” the Spanish Foreign Minister said. He highlighted that Pakistan’s active involvement has been crucial in de-escalating tensions and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
Spain’s statement comes as many countries appreciate Pakistan’s diplomatic success in bringing the two sides to an agreement. The ceasefire has reduced immediate fears of wider conflict and allowed shipping to resume in the vital waterway.
The Spanish government reaffirmed its commitment to backing all diplomatic initiatives aimed at reducing tensions and promoting long-term peace through dialogue and cooperation. This support from a European country adds weight to Pakistan’s growing role as a reliable mediator in regional crises.
