Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has described the recent US-Iran ceasefire as the “fruit of the blood” of the martyred Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In his first major statement after the truce, Pezeshkian said the ceasefire, which accepted Iran’s key principles, was achieved through the sacrifice of the martyred leader and the strong unity shown by the Iranian people.
Taking to social media platform X, he wrote: “The ceasefire, with the acceptance of the general principles desired by Iran, was the fruit of the blood of our great martyred leader Khamenei and the achievement of the presence of all the people on the scene.”
President Pezeshkian added that the Iranian nation will remain united moving forward in every field — whether in diplomacy, defence, public presence, or service to the people.
The remarks highlight Iran’s firm stance that the two-week ceasefire is not a sign of weakness but a result of national resolve and sacrifice.
Following a telephone conversation with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Pezeshkian also confirmed that an Iranian delegation will visit Islamabad for upcoming peace talks. Pakistan has been playing a key mediating role in the crisis.
The statement comes as the region takes its first steps toward de-escalation after weeks of tension.
