Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to launch a major joint security training programme for 200 personnel of Pakistan’s Federal Constabulary (FC) Special Diplomatic Protection Unit.
The decision was finalized during a high-level meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud. The meeting took place as both countries celebrated Eid ul Azha.
Under this initiative, 200 Pakistani officers will travel to Saudi Arabia for advanced training in diplomatic security, border protection, counter-terrorism, and modern law enforcement techniques. The programme is aimed at strengthening professional skills and improving coordination between the security forces of both nations.
During the meeting, both ministers exchanged Eid greetings and expressed their commitment to further deepening strategic and security cooperation. The Saudi side also appreciated Pakistan’s important role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
A Saudi delegation is expected to visit Pakistan in the coming weeks to discuss expanding cooperation in multiple security-related fields, including intelligence sharing and capacity building.
This new training programme reflects the strong brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. It will not only enhance the capabilities of Pakistani forces but also strengthen long-term security ties between the two countries.
