Pakistan, Iran Aim to Boost Bilateral Trade to $10 Billion, PM Shehbaz

Pakistan and Iran have renewed their commitment to strong brotherly relations by signing 12 fresh agreements covering trade, energy, and infrastructure development. Both countries agreed to work together to raise their annual trade volume to $10 billion and to promote regional peace through talks and cooperation.

President Asif Ali Zardari thanked Iran for its firm support on the Kashmir issue and strongly condemned Isr_ael’s recent aggression. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also backed Iran’s right to peaceful nuc_lear energy and said Pakistan and Iran must keep working side by side to fight terr_orism, remembering the sacrifices both countries have made over the years.

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed his gratitude for Pakistan’s support and highlighted the need for unity among Muslim nations. He also quoted Allama Iqbal to underline the deep cultural and historical ties that connect both neighbours.

A high-level business forum was held during the visit where trade and business leaders from both sides discussed ways to move forward with a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and find better ways to boost trade links between the two countries.

Officials believe these agreements will create new economic opportunities, strengthen people-to-people connections, and help both countries grow together. They also stressed that regular talks and friendly cooperation are the best ways to handle regional challenges and work towards a peaceful and stable future.

Both sides hope this fresh round of agreements will open new doors for progress and deepen the special friendship between Pakistan and Iran.
