President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has shown strong support for Pakistan as the country struggles with deadly monsoon floods. The floods have already claimed more than 700 lives and forced thousands of families to leave their homes.

On Sunday, during a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin, Erdoğan expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and the suffering of the Pakistani people.

He said that both the government and people of Türkiye stand firmly with Pakistan in this very difficult time. Erdoğan added that Türkiye and Pakistan have always shared a close bond, and in moments of crisis, this friendship becomes even stronger.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked the Turkish President for his words of solidarity. He said that Pakistan is going through one of the toughest periods in recent history, with heavy rains and floods causing large-scale destruction. Villages, roads, and crops have been washed away, leaving millions of people in urgent need of shelter, food, and medical care.

Erdoğan assured that Türkiye is ready to provide assistance to Pakistan. He said that humanitarian support, relief goods, and help for rebuilding efforts will be arranged.

The Turkish President also reminded that Pakistan has always supported Türkiye in times of need, and now it is Türkiye’s turn to do the same.

Both leaders agreed to continue close cooperation not only in dealing with natural disasters but also in strengthening their long-term partnership.
