President Asif Ali Zardari has assured that Pakistan will always stand firmly with China, describing the bond between the two countries as one of “iron-clad brothers.”
In an interview with Chinese broadcaster CGTN, he said Pakistan supports China not only in times of ease but also during challenges, showing the strength of this long-standing friendship.
President Zardari praised China’s Global Governance Initiative, calling it an important step for promoting peace, cooperation, and development worldwide. He stressed that today’s world should focus more on building economies and partnerships instead of relying on military approaches to solve problems.
Talking about the future, he highlighted the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) 2.0, describing it as a game-changer for Pakistan’s economy and infrastructure.
He explained that this next phase of CPEC is designed to bring investment into industries, expand energy projects, and improve transportation and connectivity, which will benefit both nations for decades to come.
He also underlined the importance of stability in Balochistan, noting that the region holds great potential for growth. According to him, peace and development in Balochistan are key to ensuring that CPEC 2.0 can succeed and deliver its full benefits.
President Zardari added that this partnership will not only serve current needs but also create opportunities for future generations.
He expressed confidence that stronger cooperation between Pakistan and China will bring prosperity, progress, and stability to both nations as well as the wider region.
