Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has laid the foundation stone for a new Daanish School in Chitral, marking a major step toward improving educational access in Pakistan’s northern regions. The school is expected to be completed and inaugurated next year, bringing high-quality learning opportunities to deserving students in the area.
The premier announced that the new Daanish School will feature modern classrooms, digital libraries, smart boards, sports grounds, and free boarding and lodging facilities for underprivileged children. He stated that the institution’s standard will be on par with Aitchison College Lahore, ensuring equal educational opportunities for students from remote and less-developed regions.
Speaking at the ceremony, PM Shehbaz highlighted education as the foundation of national progress, saying that the government aims to “empower youth through knowledge, discipline, and opportunity.”
In addition to the school project, the Prime Minister announced several key development initiatives for Chitral, including the establishment of a gas plant to address local energy needs and plans to set up a new university in Upper Chitral. He also assured that the government will work to resolve electricity tariff and power supply issues faced by residents.
The new Daanish School reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to promoting inclusive and quality education, especially in regions where access to modern facilities has long been limited.
