Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are set to move forward with a landmark agreement that will finally address the legal status of Rohingya Muslims living between the two countries. The development came during Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s visit to the Saudi Embassy in Islamabad, where he was welcomed by Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki.

During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in security, interior affairs, and regional stability. The Saudi ambassador also strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Islamabad, offering condolences and reaffirming Saudi Arabia’s support for Pakistan during challenging times.

One of the most significant outcomes of the discussion was progress on the long-standing issue of the Rohingya community, many of whom have lived in a state of uncertainty for years. The ambassador praised Pakistan’s constructive efforts in helping move the matter towards resolution and confirmed that a formal agreement between the two countries will be signed in Saudi Arabia next week.

Interior Secretary Muhammad Khurram Agha was also present during the meeting, underscoring the importance Pakistan places on advancing this humanitarian issue. The upcoming agreement is expected to provide clarity, legal protection, and improved documentation for Rohingya Muslims, marking a milestone in Pakistan–Saudi cooperation and offering long-awaited relief to the affected community.
