The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced that the 11th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) will take place from March 26 to May 3, 2026, signaling an ambitious agenda to expand the league’s international presence and commercial reach.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that the upcoming season may see an increase in the number of participating teams from six to eight. The franchise auction for the new season is scheduled for January 8, 2026, allowing prospective team owners to secure their slots ahead of the start of the tournament. The expansion aims to enhance competition, attract more international talent, and provide additional opportunities for emerging Pakistani players.
In line with its global marketing strategy, the PSL trophy was recently showcased at Times Square in New York, following a successful promotional roadshow in London at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground. These efforts are part of PCB’s broader plan to strengthen the PSL’s international brand and elevate its status among major T20 leagues worldwide.
The board emphasized that the PSL continues to be a platform for fostering young talent, increasing domestic cricket standards, and promoting Pakistan as a safe and attractive venue for international sporting events. The growing global appeal, combined with strategic international promotion, is expected to boost sponsorship, viewership, and fan engagement across borders.
With the upcoming season promising more teams, star players, and high-profile matches, PSL 11 is positioned to further solidify Pakistan’s reputation as a hub for competitive T20 cricket while expanding its footprint in the global cricketing community.
