Defending champions Lahore Qalandars have confirmed the return of Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman for the Pakistan Super League 2026. The left arm pacer has been signed directly for PKR 6.44 crore under the league’s new direct signing policy ahead of the PSL 11 auction scheduled for February 11.
This will be Mustafizur’s third stint with the Lahore Qalandars. He previously represented the franchise in 2016 and 2018, where he impressed fans with his variations, calm temperament, and ability to deliver in pressure situations. His return has been warmly welcomed by supporters, many of whom still associate him with the team’s early seasons.
Mustafizur rejoins the Qalandars after being released by Indian Premier League side Kolkata Knight Riders last month. His exit from the IPL followed instructions issued by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which led to changes in overseas player availability.
Lahore Qalandars owner Sameen Rana described the signing as a “homecoming,” highlighting Mustafizur’s experience at the international level and his understanding of the franchise’s culture. He said the pacer’s presence would strengthen the bowling unit as the team looks to defend its PSL title.
The signing reflects Lahore’s strategy of blending experience with continuity. With Mustafizur’s return, the Qalandars add a proven match-winner who knows the conditions well and has a strong bond with the team.
As PSL 2026 approaches, the move sends a clear message. Lahore Qalandars are not just defending champions. They are building around familiar faces to stay on top.
