Karachi to See Early April Showers with Rain Prediction this Week

by Mahnoor Arif

Karachi residents are likely to see the first showers of April as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain in the city on April 2 and 3, 2026.

According to the Met Office, a strong westerly weather system is approaching Pakistan and is expected to bring rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms to Sindh province starting from April 1. Karachi may receive moderate rainfall along with possible isolated hailstorms on Thursday and Friday.

The weather is likely to remain pleasant with partly cloudy skies over the next three days before the system arrives. PMD officials said the intensity of rain will become clearer as the system moves closer to the city.

This weather disturbance is part of a larger system that will affect many parts of the country until April 5. Other cities in Sindh, including Hyderabad, Sukkur, Badin, and Thatta, are also expected to receive rainfall during this period.

The upcoming rain is expected to bring some relief from the dry and dusty weather Karachi has experienced recently. However, strong winds may cause minor damage to weak structures, billboards, and outdoor setups.

Citizens are advised to stay updated with the latest weather alerts, secure loose objects, and avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rain or thunderstorms. Farmers and outdoor workers should also plan their activities accordingly.

This early April rain could help lower temperatures and improve air quality in the port city.
