The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has said that more rain is on the way for many parts of the country, including Islamabad.
According to the latest forecast, people should get ready for thunderstorms, strong winds, and heavy showers in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and some parts of Sindh. In some areas, the rain could be very heavy and may lead to local flooding.
Cities like Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Murree, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, and many other places in Punjab are likely to get more rain in the coming days. In Lahore’s Samanabad area, 147 mm of rain was recorded — the highest amount yet this season. More rain is also expected in northern KP areas such as Swat, Malakand, and Chitral.
PMD officials shared that this rainy spell will likely last until July 18 and will then shift to the southern parts of the country. Between July 18 and 20, more downpours are expected in Sindh, especially in cities like Karachi, Hyderabad, and Sukkur.
Residents in these areas are advised to stay cautious during heavy rain and thunderstorms. Local authorities may give safety tips to help people avoid problems like water accumulation, traffic jams, and slippery roads.
The PMD has asked everyone to follow the weather updates and plan their travel carefully. While the rain will help cool down the hot weather, people should remain careful and prepared to deal with any issues caused by strong winds and heavy showers.
