The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has announced a cash prize of Rs 8.2 million for Pakistan’s under-16 volleyball team and their coaches to celebrate their historic win at the Asian U16 Volleyball Championship.
According to PSB’s 2024 cash award policy, each of the 12 players will get Rs 600,000, adding up to Rs 7.2 million, while the coaching staff will receive Rs 1 million.
The young Green Shirts made the whole country proud by defeating defending champions Iran in the final with an impressive 3-2 comeback. The team stayed unbeaten throughout the event and played brilliantly against strong opponents like South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, and India. They outclassed India 3-0 in the semi-final, showing their skills and confidence.
Pakistan’s under-16 team performed well in all areas — attack, block, and serve — which helped them stay on top throughout the championship. This big win is an important achievement for Pakistan’s volleyball scene and highlights the hard work and potential of young athletes.
By giving this cash award, the PSB wants to encourage and motivate young sports players to keep working hard and aiming high. The prize not only rewards their dedication but also sets an example for other young players to dream big and represent Pakistan with pride.
This victory is a reminder that with training, teamwork, and support, Pakistan’s youth can make history and shine on international platforms. The PSB’s quick reward shows their commitment to backing the country’s future sports stars.
