Islamabad Bans Use of ‘Baajas’ During Independence Day Celebrations

by Hameed

Islamabad authorities have officially b@nned the sale and use of ‘baajas’ (vuvuzelas) in the city ahead of Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations on August 14. This move is meant to prevent noise pollution and maintain peace during the national festivities.

The Deputy Commissioner has issued strict orders for immediate action, warning that anyone found selling or using these noisy horns will face legal consequences.

To enforce the b@n, assistant commissioners and magistrates have been directed to carry out daily operations across the city. They have been told to seize horns being sold at roadside stalls or in markets.

Officials have also been clearly informed that if any area under their supervision allows such activity, they will be held responsible. The aim is to ensure that celebrations remain joyful but do not cause discomfort to the public through excessive noise.

While the government encourages patriotic activities and celebrations, it also wants to maintain public order. The horn b@n is part of a continued effort seen in previous years during Independence Day, where similar actions were taken to control noise levels and keep the environment peaceful.

Citizens are encouraged to celebrate responsibly and follow the rules to avoid any issues. The administration hopes this step will help ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable Independence Day for all residents of the capital. The authorities have said that enforcement will remain strict until the end of the national holiday.
