Users in Pakistan Frustrated Over Nationwide Slow Internet

by Hameed

Internet services in Pakistan have become very slow in recent days, creating problems for people across the country. Users are facing difficulties with uploading, downloading, and even sending simple text messages.

Videos are taking extra time to load, and online calls often get interrupted. This slowdown has caused frustration for businesses, students, and teachers who depend on stable internet for their daily activities.

According to officials, the issue is linked to a fault in the submarine cables located near Saudi Arabia. These undersea cables connect Pakistan to the global internet, so any problem in them affects the speed and quality of services in the country.

The repair of such cables is not a simple process. It requires specialized ships, trained teams, and calm weather conditions in the sea. Because of these challenges, fixing the fault may take weeks.

PTCL, one of Pakistan’s largest internet service providers, confirmed the disruption. The company stated that services are only partially working and users are experiencing the most difficulty during evening hours when internet usage is at its peak.

PTCL also assured that efforts are being made to provide temporary solutions and to improve internet speed while the main cables are being repaired.

Until the repair is complete, internet users may continue to experience slow browsing, delayed messages, and difficulties in attending online classes or meetings. The situation highlights how dependent everyday life has become on stable internet connections, and how disruptions in global networks directly affect millions of people in Pakistan.
