Islamabad’s first dedicated IT Park is expected to bring a major change to Pakistan’s technology sector. The project, which is already under construction, is scheduled to be completed by December 2025. Once ready, it will open new doors for innovation, entrepreneurship, and employment.
The IT Park is being built with the support of a $76.3 million loan from South Korea. Standing 12 stories tall, the facility has already achieved 71% progress. It will provide space for nearly 120 start-ups and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
According to officials, the project will also create around 10,000 direct and indirect jobs, giving a big boost to Pakistan’s youth and tech professionals.
The building will not just offer office spaces but also state-of-the-art facilities, including modern laboratories, training classrooms, and dedicated spaces for research and collaboration.
One of its main goals is to strengthen industry-academia linkages so that students, researchers, and businesses can work together to develop new ideas and technologies.
This initiative is closely tied to the government’s Digital Pakistan vision, which aims to increase IT exports, encourage innovation, and make Pakistan more competitive in the global digital economy.
Officials believe the IT Park will play a key role in supporting local talent and helping the country become a regional hub for technology and research.
Despite facing challenges such as heavy rains, import restrictions, and economic pressures, the project has remained on track and within budget. With its completion in sight, expectations are high that the IT Park will mark a turning point for Pakistan’s growing IT industry.
