Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has officially launched a new electric bus service in Faisalabad, introducing 150 modern buses to improve public transport in the region. Out of these, 90 buses will operate in Faisalabad city, while the remaining will be shared between Jhang, Chiniot, and Toba Tek Singh.

This is being called the first proper and organized public transport system for Faisalabad, a city where people have long faced issues with travel. According to officials, the buses will soon run on seven different routes, making it easier for passengers to reach their destinations comfortably and on time.

During the launch, the Chief Minister said that she would not waste energy on personal criticism and instead focus on the progress of Punjab. She also added that her government would strongly protect the province’s rights while continuing to introduce new projects for the people.

The electric bus service is designed not only to improve transportation but also to make travel affordable and accessible. Fares will remain low, and some groups will be able to travel for free, including women, children, students, and senior citizens.

Officials say this project will help reduce traffic issues, save fuel costs, and also contribute to a cleaner environment since the buses run on electricity. With the addition of these buses, thousands of people in Faisalabad and nearby districts are expected to benefit daily.

The launch of the e-bus service is seen as an important step toward modernizing Punjab’s transport system and offering citizens a safer, cleaner, and more affordable way to travel.
