Thatta Cement Company Limited (THCCL) has taken a major step toward industrial diversification by announcing that its wholly owned subsidiary, Minsk Work Tractor & Assembling (Private) Limited, has signed an exclusive agreement with OJSC Minsk Tractor Works (MTW) of Belarus to locally assemble and produce Belarus tractors in Balochistan.
This strategic partnership marks a new chapter in Pakistan’s agricultural mechanization and industrial development. The project aims to establish a modern tractor assembly and production facility, focusing on transferring advanced manufacturing technology from Belarus to Pakistan.
Once operational, the plant is expected to create hundreds of employment opportunities, develop local engineering expertise, and promote import substitution by producing tractors domestically rather than relying on foreign imports.
Industry experts have praised the collaboration, viewing it as a game-changer for Pakistan’s farming sector, which heavily depends on imported machinery. Locally built Belarus tractors, known for their durability and power, will provide farmers with cost-effective and high-performance equipment suited for local agricultural needs.
The initiative also aligns with the government’s broader vision to strengthen industrialization in Balochistan, attract foreign investment, and enhance regional economic activity. By promoting local manufacturing and rural development, the project reinforces Pakistan’s efforts to modernize its agricultural landscape while contributing to self-reliance in farm technology.
With this development, Thatta Cement has successfully expanded its role beyond construction materials into agro-industrial innovation, signaling a promising future for Pakistan’s manufacturing sector.
