YANGWANG U9 Xtreme Becomes Fastest Electric Hypercar at Nürburgring Nordschleife

The YANGWANG U9 Xtreme, a luxury electric hypercar developed by BYD, has made global headlines after setting a new lap record at Germany’s famous Nürburgring Nordschleife. The powerful car completed the 20.8-kilometer track in 6 minutes and 59.157 seconds, making it the first electric supercar in history to break the seven-minute barrier.

This incredible achievement comes just weeks after the U9 Xtreme reached a top speed of 496.22 km/h at the ATP Papenburg test track, another world record for electric vehicles. The U9 Xtreme combines futuristic design with advanced engineering, showcasing how far electric technology has come in terms of speed and performance.

Powered by a 1200V ultra-high-voltage platform, the car features four electric motors, each capable of spinning up to 30,000 revolutions per minute (rpm). Together, they deliver over 3,000PS of power, enabling the hypercar to accelerate faster than most Formula 1 cars.

The car’s lightweight carbon-fiber body, aerodynamic design, and advanced cooling system help it maintain stability and control at extreme speeds. Experts say the U9 Xtreme’s performance signals a new era for electric mobility, one where electric cars can easily outperform traditional gas-powered supercars.

BYD has announced that only 30 units of the U9 Xtreme will be produced worldwide, making it an ultra-rare collector’s item. The record-breaking run has placed BYD among the top innovators in global automotive history, proving that the future of speed is truly electric.
