Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif delivered an important speech at the Balochistan Workshop, stressing that all citizens should think of themselves as Pakistanis first before identifying with their specific ethnic or provincial backgrounds. He said, “We are Pakistanis first, then Punjabis, Baloch, Sindhis, or Pashtuns.”
The Prime Minister called for everyone to work together to solve problems and complaints that different communities may have. He emphasized that strengthening national unity should be the country’s top priority. For Pakistan to function as a true federation, all provinces must reach consensus and agreement on important issues.
Shehbaz Sharif reminded the audience about Pakistan’s history when different communities lived in harmony and worked together through difficult times. He stressed that every community, whether Punjabi, Baloch, Sindhi, Pashtun, or any other, must feel like active and valued participants in Pakistan’s development and progress. No group should feel left behind or ignored.
The Prime Minister also discussed practical steps his government is taking to improve conditions across provinces. He specifically mentioned redirecting money saved from fuel costs toward rebuilding the dangerous N-25 highway, which is crucial for Balochistan’s connectivity. This highway improvement will enhance safety and promote economic activity in the region.
Through such concrete initiatives, the government aims to promote affection between provinces, establish lasting peace, and create prosperity for all Pakistanis.
The Prime Minister’s message was clear: unity, inclusion, and practical development projects are essential for Pakistan’s future success. When all communities feel respected and included, the entire nation becomes stronger.
