Pakistan has reopened the Torkham border after a two-week closure, allowing thousands of Afghan refugees to return to their homeland. The reopening follows recent border clashes and a ceasefire agreement reached between officials from both countries during talks held in Doha.
According to reports, more than 100,000 Afghans have crossed back into Afghanistan since the border reopened. On the first day alone, over 10,000 people used the Chaman border crossing, one of the main routes for movement between the two countries.
