Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf has been suspended for two One Day Internationals (ODIs) after breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the Asia Cup 2025. The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that the decision came after Rauf accumulated four demerit points within a 24-month period.
According to the ICC, Rauf was involved in multiple incidents during the India-Pakistan matches held on September 14, 21, and 28, where his behavior was deemed inappropriate under the sport’s disciplinary code. These repeated Level 1 offences led to the automatic suspension, as per ICC’s regulations.
As a result, Rauf will miss Pakistan’s first two ODIs against South Africa, scheduled for November 4 and 6, 2025. The suspension is a setback for Pakistan, as Rauf’s pace and wicket-taking ability are key strengths in the team’s bowling lineup.
An ICC spokesperson stated that maintaining discipline and sportsmanship is essential to the spirit of the game. “All players are expected to uphold the highest standards of behavior on and off the field,” the statement read.
While Rauf has not publicly commented on the suspension, reports suggest he has accepted the decision without contest.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to name a replacement fast bowler for the upcoming matches. Fans and analysts hope Rauf will make a strong comeback once his ban ends, focusing on discipline and performance in future international fixtures.
