Pakistan is set to make history this November by hosting its first-ever ATP tennis tournament, as confirmed by Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi. The event marks a significant milestone for the country’s sports community and is expected to boost Pakistan’s global presence in professional tennis.
According to Aisam, the tournament will attract international players, giving local fans a rare opportunity to witness world-class tennis action at home. It also represents a major achievement for the federation, which has been working hard to bring international events back to Pakistan and strengthen its image as a safe and welcoming sports destination.
In addition to the ATP event, Aisam announced that several junior tournaments are planned to help young players gain experience and exposure. The Covered Court Project, currently under development, will provide training facilities that allow players to practice throughout the year, regardless of weather conditions.
Sports analysts view this ATP tournament as a turning point for Pakistani tennis, providing young athletes the chance to learn from seasoned professionals and inspiring a new generation of talent.
The PTF hopes that this international recognition will attract more sponsorships and government support, ensuring the continued growth of the sport. Aisam-ul-Haq emphasized that the ultimate goal is to make Pakistan a regular host of international tennis events and establish a strong foundation for future champions.
