The newly established Crime Control Department (CCD) in Punjab is set to receive 118 brand-new vehicles worth Rs.1 billion, a major step toward improving law enforcement across the province. Officials confirmed that these vehicles will help the department respond faster, travel safely, and carry out operations more effectively.
The new fleet includes 10 Toyota Land Cruisers, which will be used by senior officers for high-level field duties. Along with these, the department will receive eight double-cabin pickups and 100 single-cabin pickups. These vehicles are designed to support different types of operations, especially in areas where quick mobility is important.
The funding for this project comes from a Rs.2 billion budget that was approved earlier this year. Authorities stated that all vehicles will be delivered by January. Once they arrive, the older vehicles currently in use will be redistributed to other units to ensure no resources are wasted.
To further strengthen safety, officials announced that the entire fleet will be made bulletproof in phases. This upgrade will help protect officers during raids, patrols, and other risky missions, giving them better protection in hostile situations.
Overall, the new vehicles are expected to greatly improve the CCD’s ability to fight crime, respond to emergencies, and maintain peace in Punjab. The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to modernizing police operations and ensuring safer communities across the province.
