Pakistan imported mobile phones worth more than Rs182 billion in just four months (July to October 2025). This is about Rs18,000 crore. Compared to last year, we bought 18.5% more phones.
Here is the month-wise amount:
- July 2025: $14.53 million
- August 2025: $15.52 million
- September 2025: $19.95 million
- October 2025: $14.46 million
Total: $64.46 million (Rs182 billion).
People in Pakistan want new smartphones. Young boys and girls like good cameras and fast internet. Students need phones for online study. Many parents buy phones to talk to family living abroad. Even in villages, everyone now uses WhatsApp and YouTube, so a phone is very important.
Almost all these phones come from other countries, mostly China. Pakistan does not make enough phones inside the country yet. So we have to pay a lot of money to bring them in.
This big import shows that people have more money to spend on phones. But it also means a lot of dollars are going out of Pakistan.

The government says they want more phone factories here. If phones are made in Pakistan, it will save money and give jobs to our people.
