Punjab to Get Rs 206 Million Modern Paragliding Zone

by Mahnoor Arif

Punjab is preparing to welcome adventure and nature enthusiasts with a Rs206 million paragliding zone at Chevra Summit in Kotli Sattian. The project, approved by the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP), aims to transform the area into a major tourist destination while offering a modern, European-style recreational experience.

The facility will include gliding pods, a treehouse, a café, jogging tracks, selfie points, parking areas, and other visitor amenities, making it ideal for families, students, and adventure lovers. Tourists will also get the chance to enjoy telescope-assisted views of Rawal Dam, Mangla Dam, and the Line of Control (LoC), adding a scenic and educational dimension to their visit.

Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2026, with the site expected to open by mid-January 2027. To celebrate the opening, authorities plan to organize a grand cultural festival, highlighting local traditions, food, and music.

Accessibility has also been prioritized. A new two-lane illuminated approach road with extensive plantation will be constructed, ensuring smooth and safe travel for visitors. The modern infrastructure, combined with adventure and sightseeing opportunities, is expected to boost tourism in the region and provide economic benefits to local communities.

Officials say the Chevra Summit paragliding zone will not only attract domestic tourists but also draw international visitors looking for unique adventure experiences in Pakistan. With a blend of natural beauty, outdoor activities, and cultural festivities, this project promises to make Kotli Sattian a must-visit destination in Punjab.
