Pakistan is marking the ninth death anniversary of renowned religious scholar, Naat Khawan, and public figure Junaid Jamshed, who passed away on December 7, 2016. His memory continues to live on in the hearts of millions who admired his voice, values, and dedication to faith.

Born on September 3, 1964, in Karachi, Junaid Jamshed first rose to fame as a celebrated pop singer in the 1980s and 1990s. Later, he stepped away from music and devoted his life to religion, becoming one of Pakistan’s most loved spiritual personalities. His soulful naats and heartfelt messages touched people across generations and strengthened his connection with the public.

For his contributions to religion and society, Junaid Jamshed was honored with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, one of the country’s highest civilian awards. Beyond his religious work, he was also known for humanitarian efforts, charity projects, and his clothing brand, which helped support social causes.

Sadly, Junaid Jamshed lost his life in a plane crash near Havelian while returning to Islamabad from Chitral. His wife and several others also perished in the tragic accident, leaving the entire nation in deep sorrow.
