Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has announced that matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will now take place at Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium in Azad Kashmir. The decision was shared during a PSL roadshow at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.
Naqvi stated that the Muzaffarabad stadium will be upgraded to meet top international standards, ensuring players and fans have a world-class experience. The stadium improvements are expected to include better seating, modern facilities, and enhanced pitch quality to host high-profile matches safely and efficiently.
The PCB chief also highlighted that Muzaffarabad already offers five-star hotels and accommodations suitable for international teams and officials. This makes the city a viable destination for hosting major cricket events while giving players a comfortable stay during the tournament.
Alongside PSL matches, other international games are also planned in the region, which marks a significant milestone for cricket in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Bringing such high-level events to Muzaffarabad is seen as a step to promote sports, boost tourism, and provide local fans the chance to witness live cricket action in their home city.
