PSL 11 May Host Matches in Azad Kashmir

by Mahnoor Arif

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced plans to hold PSL 11 matches at Muzaffarabad Stadium in Azad Kashmir, bringing high-level cricket to northern Pakistan. This move is part of PCB’s efforts to expand cricketing opportunities beyond traditional venues.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that infrastructure upgrades are currently underway at Muzaffarabad and Abbottabad stadiums. These improvements aim to prepare the venues not only for PSL matches but also for future international cricket fixtures. Upgrades include better seating arrangements, floodlights, pitch improvements, and modern facilities for players and spectators.

Muzaffarabad Stadium has previously hosted matches for the Kashmir Premier League and is known for its enthusiastic local cricket fans. Abbottabad Stadium, set in a scenic northern region, has hosted domestic cricket but has not yet hosted international games. By bringing PSL matches to these locations, PCB hopes to promote cricket in northern areas and give local fans a chance to experience high-quality matches live.

Cricket experts believe hosting PSL matches in new venues will also help discover emerging talent from less-explored regions and inspire young players to pursue professional cricket.

The PCB’s initiative reflects a broader strategy to diversify cricket venues across Pakistan, ensuring fans nationwide can enjoy live matches. For PSL 11, fans in Azad Kashmir and northern Pakistan are eagerly anticipating the chance to watch top franchises compete while enjoying the stunning natural scenery.

If confirmed, these matches will mark an important milestone in expanding Pakistan’s cricket map and promoting the sport in new regions.
