More than six million Pakistanis used NADRA’s Pak ID mobile application in 2025, showing a strong shift toward digital identity services across the country. The rising use of the app reflects growing public trust in technology driven government services and a clear move away from manual processes.
The Pak ID app allows citizens to apply for CNICs and other identity related services directly from their mobile phones. By reducing the need for physical visits to NADRA offices, the platform has made the process faster, easier, and more accessible for people living in both urban and remote areas.
NADRA officials said the increasing adoption of Pak ID supports Pakistan’s broader digitalisation goals. The app has helped streamline identity management while ensuring secure handling of personal data. Features such as online applications, document tracking, and status updates have improved transparency and user convenience.
In addition to CNIC services, NADRA clarified that citizens can update their marital status after divorce by submitting official documents at Union Councils. Once verified, these updates are reflected in the central database, ensuring records remain accurate and up to date.
The surge in Pak ID usage highlights how digital platforms can improve service delivery when supported by reliable systems. Millions of users now rely on the app for essential identity needs, saving time and reducing administrative hurdles.
Experts believe the success of Pak ID could encourage further digital reforms in public services. As more citizens adopt online solutions, Pakistan’s identity management system is moving toward a more efficient and modern model, making essential services easier to access while maintaining security and accuracy nationwide.
