Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced Rs10 billion in financial assistance to support security forces operating in Balochistan, highlighting Punjab’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the region.

The announcement came during her official visit to Quetta, where she met with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti and Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail.

During her visit, Maryam Nawaz praised the resilience, courage, and patriotism of the people of Balochistan, recognizing their role in overcoming challenges posed by terrorism and instability.

The financial support is intended to strengthen the operational capacity of security forces, ensuring they have the resources necessary to respond effectively to threats and maintain law and order.

The decision follows a series of coordinated attacks across 12 towns in the province, after which security forces carried out successful counter-terror operations. Maryam Nawaz emphasized that national unity and inter-provincial cooperation are essential to combat terrorism and secure the country’s borders.

She assured continued support for Balochistan’s development projects and pledged full collaboration to enhance both security and socio-economic growth in the province.

Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail welcomed the Punjab CM warmly, presenting her with a commemorative shield and a traditional carpet as a mark of respect.

The meeting also underscored the importance of strong federal and provincial cooperation in addressing security challenges, promoting peace, and advancing development initiatives.

With this commitment, Punjab sets an example of solidarity and partnership, supporting Balochistan in maintaining security and fostering long-term stability for its people.
