K-Electric Appoints Adeeb Ahmad as Acting CEO

by Mahnoor Arif

K-Electric has named Adeeb Ahmad as its interim CEO following the resignation of Moonis Alvi last week. Ahmad brings over 34 years of experience in energy, infrastructure, and corporate management across Pakistan, the MENA region, Turkey, and Southeast Asia.

In his new role, Ahmad will oversee K-Electric’s operations, including power generation, distribution, and customer services. The company said his appointment reflects a focus on leadership continuity and strategic growth during a period of operational and financial restructuring.

Ahmad’s career includes significant leadership positions, notably serving as CEO of Hascol Petroleum and as Senior Advisor at the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector in Saudi Arabia. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and corporate transformation, making him well suited to steer Pakistan’s largest privately owned power utility.

He holds an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics and an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration, blending international and local perspectives in business management.

Industry experts note that Ahmad’s appointment comes at a critical time as K-Electric works to improve operational efficiency, enhance customer service, and strengthen financial stability. His leadership is expected to guide the company through upcoming energy sector reforms and ongoing regulatory challenges.

The company and stakeholders have welcomed the appointment, emphasizing Ahmad’s experience and strategic insight as key to K-Electric’s future growth.
