National Accountability Bureau has introduced an online property layout portal that provides public access to approved plans of 1,026 housing societies across Pakistan. The initiative was announced by Shakeel Ahmed Durrani and Waqar Ahmed Chauhan.
Officials said the new digital system is designed to improve transparency in the real estate sector. Buyers can now check whether a housing society’s layout plan has been approved before making an investment decision. This step aims to protect citizens from fraud and reduce disputes related to illegal or unapproved projects.
NAB representatives added that the platform will also make procedures easier for builders and developers. By placing verified information online, the bureau expects to reduce unnecessary delays and complaints from the business community. Authorities believe this move will help address common issues such as the non delivery of plot files and misleading project details.
During the announcement, NAB also shared that it has recovered government land worth Rs 1.5 trillion through various operations. The bureau plans to continue its efforts to recover assets and prevent misuse of public property.
In addition, a joint taskforce will be formed in coordination with the Sindh government to deal with land related matters more effectively. Officials said stronger coordination between institutions is necessary to resolve long standing property disputes and ensure accountability in the housing sector.
