Pakistan Not Among 5 Countries Who Will Send Troops to Gaza’s International Force

by Mahnoor Arif

Pakistan is not among the five countries that have agreed to contribute troops to a proposed international stabilisation force for Gaza. The plan, discussed in diplomatic circles, aims to support reconstruction and maintain security in the territory after months of conflict and destruction.

According to international reports, the United States has been working with several partners to form a limited peacekeeping and reconstruction support force. Among the Muslim majority countries that have reportedly pledged troops and financial assistance are Morocco and Indonesia. The force is expected to focus on maintaining order, protecting aid distribution, and supporting local administrative structures during the rebuilding phase.

Pakistan has long voiced political and diplomatic support for the Palestinian cause but has not committed military personnel to this specific initiative. Officials in Islamabad have not announced any plans to join the proposed deployment, though Pakistan has previously participated in United Nations peacekeeping missions in different parts of the world.

Analysts say decisions on troop contributions often depend on strategic, security, and diplomatic considerations. Sending forces abroad requires parliamentary approval, logistical planning, and coordination with international partners.

The situation in Gaza remains fragile, with large scale reconstruction needs and humanitarian concerns. Any multinational stabilisation effort will likely face complex political and operational challenges.

Pakistan’s absence from the initial group does not rule out future involvement through humanitarian aid or diplomatic channels as discussions continue at the global level.
