Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu has said that Pakistan is a responsible country that wants peace with honour while remaining fully prepared to defend its sovereignty.
He shared these remarks during a ceremony marking the seventh anniversary of Operation Swift Retort, a major response carried out by the Pakistan Air Force in 2019.
Speaking at the event, the Air Chief highlighted how the Pakistan Air Force responded quickly and precisely to aggression at the time. He said the operation demonstrated strong planning, coordination, and the ability to conduct multi domain operations.
According to him, the Air Force successfully engaged advanced enemy aircraft and targeted air defence systems, showing operational readiness and technical strength.
He also spoke about the progress made since 2021. The Pakistan Air Force has focused on modernization and greater self reliance. This includes the integration of unmanned aerial systems, electronic warfare tools, and improved cyber and space related capabilities. These steps, he said, are part of building a next generation air force that can meet modern security challenges.
The Air Chief stressed that Pakistan’s defence strategy is based on credible deterrence and vigilance. He said the country does not seek conflict but will respond firmly to any threat.
His message underlined a balanced approach, maintaining peace while ensuring strong national defence and protection of territorial integrity.
