Hunza Serena Hotel in Pakistan’s Gilgit‑Baltistan region has been included in TIME Magazine’s list of the “World’s Greatest Places of 2026.” The list highlights destinations and places around the world that offer unique experiences, beauty, and growing appeal to travelers.

The hotel stands in the scenic Hunza Valley, known for its high mountains, deep green valleys, and culture that draws both nature lovers and adventure seekers. It opened in 2024 with 82 guest rooms that face Rakaposhi Mountain and other peaks in the Karakoram Range. Guests can see glaciers, orchard terraces, and historic forts like Altit and Baltit from the hotel area.

TIME said the hotel is attracting a new wave of international visitors to northern Pakistan. Its rooms mix modern comfort with traditional local designs, including woodwork and native textile art, giving guests a chance to connect with Hunza’s history.

Tourism in Gilgit‑Baltistan has been rising sharply. International visits increased by over 120 percent in 2024, making the region a more visible global travel destination. Visitors come for hiking, nature trails, and cultural exploration as well as sightseeing.

The inclusion of Hunza Serena Hotel on TIME’s list reflects not just its natural beauty but the growing interest in Pakistan’s northern areas as places worth visiting for luxury stays and adventure travel alike.
