The Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 will take place without spectators as part of government’s cost-saving steps during the ongoing Middle East crisis. The decision was announced by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who said the move aims to reduce expenses and limit public gatherings.
According to officials, all matches will be held only in Karachi and Lahore. The grand opening ceremony has also been cancelled to cut additional costs and avoid large crowds. Despite these changes, the tournament schedule will remain the same, starting from March 26 and continuing until May 3.
The opening match is expected to be played between Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Kingsmen. All games will be conducted behind closed doors, meaning only players, officials, and essential staff will be allowed inside the stadiums.
Authorities have stated that there is no direct security threat, but institutions across the country remain on high alert due to regional tensions. The decision is mainly precautionary and linked to financial discipline during uncertain times.
Experts believe this step will help control costs while allowing the tournament to continue smoothly. Fans, however, will have to watch matches from home through live broadcasts until the situation improves and normal conditions return.
