Over 70,000 Cars Enter Murree in Eid Days

by Mahnoor Arif

The hill station of Murree saw a huge rush of tourists during the Eid holidays, with more than 70,000 vehicles entering the area. Families from different cities traveled to Murree to enjoy the cooler weather and scenic views, leading to heavy traffic on major roads.

To manage the situation, the City Traffic Police deployed over 270 officers at important locations such as Mall Road and other busy locations. Their main goal was to control traffic flow and prevent long traffic jams, which are common during peak tourist seasons.

Murree’s narrow and winding roads make traffic management difficult, especially when the number of visitors suddenly increases. Many drivers park their cars in restricted areas, which block roads and slow down movement. To deal with this, authorities used lifters to remove wrongly parked vehicles and keep roads clear.

Officials also advised tourists to follow traffic rules and cooperate with authorities to avoid inconvenience. Visitors were encouraged to use designated parking areas and plan their trips to reduce congestion.

The large number of tourists shows Murree’s popularity as a holiday destination, especially during Eid. However, experts say better planning and infrastructure improvements are needed to handle such crowds in the future. Proper traffic control, parking facilities, and awareness among visitors can help make travel smoother and safer for everyone.
