Mohsin Naqvi Assures Foolproof Security for Incoming US-Iran Delegation Visit

by Mahnoor Arif

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has assured complete and foolproof security for all US and Iranian dignitaries arriving in Islamabad for the high-level peace talks.

The assurance was given during a meeting with Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker. Naqvi said Pakistan is fully prepared to provide the highest level of security for the important negotiations scheduled to begin on Friday, April 10, 2026.

The talks, facilitated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, follow the recent two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran. The US delegation will be led by Vice President JD Vance and includes special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. An Iranian delegation is also expected to participate.

Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker appreciated Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic role and thanked the government for making proper security arrangements. Observers from Gulf countries, China, and Russia are also likely to attend the talks.

The Islamabad administration has declared a local public holiday on April 9 and 10. Strict security measures, including deployment of the Army in the Red Zone, have been put in place. The venue is expected to be the Serena Hotel.

These talks aim to convert the temporary ceasefire into a lasting peace agreement and resolve key regional issues. Pakistan’s successful mediation has earned international appreciation, and the government is committed to making the Islamabad Talks smooth and secure.
