CHINA ASIA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION TO INVEST $13 BILLION IN PAKISTAN FREE TRADE ZONE

by Hameed

The China Asia Economic Development Association (CAEDA) has announced plans to invest $13 billion in Pakistan’s free trade zone over the next five years, as reported by Radio Pakistan. This investment, originally estimated between $8 billion and $13 billion, could potentially increase to $30 billion over time.

The goal of this free trade zone is to serve both domestic and international markets. It will also include a duty-free shopping mall that will offer global products for Pakistani consumers.

In addition to this, CAEDA has sent 20 fishing boats to Pakistan, which marks a $500 million investment in the country’s fishing industry. Moreover, the association is working closely with Pakistan’s Special Investment Facilitation Council to finalize agreements with the Ministries of Energy and Health. These agreements will focus on boosting investments in key sectors such as petroleum, solar energy, and pharmaceuticals.

This large-scale investment is seen as a positive step towards strengthening Pakistan’s economy and meeting both local and global market demands. The collaboration between CAEDA and the Pakistani government highlights the potential for growth in trade, energy, and health sectors, creating new opportunities for economic development.
