Here’s How to Use Google Wallet in Pakistan

by Hameed

Google has launched its mobile payment service, Google Wallet, in Pakistan, allowing users to make secure transactions online, in apps, and in person using their smartphones. This service provides a seamless way to pay without carrying physical cash or cards, making everyday purchases more convenient.

To start using Google Wallet, users need to download the app from the Google Play Store. If they already have a debit or credit card linked to their Google account, it will appear automatically in the app.

A few simple steps are required to enable it for contactless payments. For those adding a new card, the process involves selecting “Add a card,” completing the verification, and accepting the terms. Once done, the card is securely stored and ready to use. Several banks in Pakistan currently support Google Wallet, including:

  • Bank AlFalah
  • HBL
  • UBL
  • Meezan Bank
  • Bank of Punjab
  • JazzCash
  • Faysal Bank Noor

Customers of these banks can make payments at retail stores, restaurants, and online platforms. More banks are expected to integrate with the service soon, including:

  • Allied Bank
  • Easypaisa Digital Bank
  • JS Bank
  • Zindigi

Payments can be made anywhere that accepts contactless transactions by simply tapping a smartphone or smartwatch on the terminal. Google Wallet is also compatible with online shopping platforms that display the Google Pay option. Popular brands like Gul Ahmed, Sana Safinaz, J., and K-Electric will soon integrate with the service, providing more payment options for customers.

Apart from financial transactions, Google Wallet allows users to store digital passes, including boarding passes. Travelers flying with Batik Air and Thai Airways can add their tickets to the app, receive flight updates, and have a smoother airport experience.

Security is a key feature of Google Wallet, with encryption and authentication measures ensuring safe transactions. Users can shop with confidence, knowing their payment details are protected. As digital payments gain popularity in Pakistan, Google Wallet offers a simple and secure way to manage financial transactions, making everyday payments faster and easier.
