India’s RITES and UAE’s Etihad Rail Sign MoU for Collaboration on Railway Infrastructure Projects

by Hameed

India’s RITES and UAE’s Etihad Rail have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together on improving rail networks and infrastructure in the UAE and the surrounding region.

The focus of this partnership is on the supply of rolling stock (rail vehicles), providing consultancy, managing projects, and offering maintenance services to modernize the rail system and make it more efficient. Both companies will also study the capacity of existing rail corridors to improve logistics and trade routes, while also exploring advanced IT solutions for better train operations.

This collaboration is aligned with India’s vision for the India-Middle East Economic Corridor (IMEC), which aims to connect India to Europe through an integrated transport system. The agreement between RITES and Etihad Rail is expected to play a key role in enhancing these trade links.

Earlier this year, RITES also signed an MoU with AD Ports, focusing on joint opportunities for development in ports and rail networks. These partnerships underline RITES’ expanding role in infrastructure development in the Middle East, aiming to improve transportation efficiency and boost economic growth across the region.

This agreement will help strengthen ties between India and the UAE while supporting regional connectivity initiatives.
