Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has instructed the Chief Secretary to quickly put the “Cashless Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” initiative into action.
This program requires businesses across the province to switch to digital payments instead of using cash. The goal is to make financial transactions more transparent, reduce dependence on physical money, and bring the province’s commercial sector in line with modern technology. By doing so, the initiative is expected to boost economic growth, improve tax collection, and encourage investment in financial technology.
A major benefit of this shift is that it will help combat corruption and prevent financial mismanagement, as digital payments leave a clear record of transactions. This will make it harder for illegal activities to go unnoticed and ensure that businesses and individuals follow financial regulations more effectively.
If successfully implemented, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will become Pakistan’s first fully cashless province, setting an example for the rest of the country. This transformation will create a more efficient and secure financial system, making everyday transactions easier for businesses and the public while paving the way for a modern digital economy.
