OGDCL Begins Natural Gas Production from Uch-35 Well in Balochistan

by Hameed

OGDCL, Pakistan’s largest company for oil and gas exploration and production, has started producing natural gas from its Uch-35 development well in Dera Bugti, Balochistan.

In an announcement made on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), OGDCL shared that the Uch-35 well, drilled to a depth of 1,345 meters, is currently producing around 5 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (MMSCFD). This gas will be directed to Uch Power Limited (UPL) to support energy needs.

To transport the gas from Uch-35 to the OGDCL Uch Gas Processing Plant, a new 1.2-kilometer flow line has been installed. This connection ensures a stable and efficient supply of natural gas to UPL. By adding this new source of natural gas to the country’s energy grid, OGDCL is helping to strengthen Pakistan’s energy security and contribute to more reliable power generation.

This development not only supports Pakistan’s energy demands but also reflects OGDCL’s commitment to sustainable growth in the energy sector. As the country works to meet its energy needs, projects like Uch-35 play an important role in securing a stable and sustainable energy future.
