The government has increased petrol and diesel prices, adding more financial pressure on the public during a time of rising inflation.

As per the latest announcement, petrol prices have gone up by Rs. 3.72 per liter, making the new price Rs. 252.10 per liter. Similarly, the cost of High-Speed Diesel has increased by Rs. 3.29 per liter, bringing it to Rs. 258.43 per liter.

Officials have explained that this price hike is due to rising global costs of petroleum products and higher import expenses. This is not the first increase in recent times; the government also raised petrol and diesel prices on October 31.

The continuous rise in fuel costs has been a growing concern for citizens, as it impacts transportation expenses and drives up the prices of essential goods. Many are struggling to cope with the combined effects of inflation and increased fuel rates.

This latest hike underscores the challenges faced by the government in managing global price pressures while balancing the needs of the public. It also highlights the need for long-term strategies to reduce dependency on imported fuel and promote affordable alternatives.
