The Large Taxpayers Office (LTO) Karachi has sealed a Zelbury outlet located in KDA Market, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, due to the issuance of unverified sales tax invoices. This action was taken on the orders of the Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue as part of an ongoing crackdown against tax violations.
According to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) regulations, all Tier-1 retailers are required to issue invoices through a Point-of-Sale (POS) Integrated System. However, during routine monitoring, tax authorities found multiple instances of non-compliant invoices at this particular outlet. As a result, legal action was taken under the Sales Tax Act, 1990.
The outlet will remain sealed until further notice, as authorities continue to enforce strict tax compliance measures. Businesses are being urged to follow the prescribed tax regulations to avoid penalties and operational disruptions.
