Pakistan and Türkiye have decided to strengthen ties in the health sector by forming a joint team of medical and health experts. The announcement was made by Federal Minister for National Health Services Syed Mustafa Kamal during a meeting with the Turkish ambassador in Islamabad on Monday.
Both countries discussed several important areas of cooperation. These include promoting health tourism, collaboration between hospitals, public-private partnerships, and new investment opportunities in healthcare. They also agreed to work together on the production, trade, and technology transfer of medical devices.
The joint expert team will identify specific areas where the two countries can work closely. Officials said the team will help create a smooth “one-window” system to make future coordination easier and faster. Officials from the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) have been appointed as focal persons for this initiative.
Pakistan wants to learn from Türkiye’s modern and advanced healthcare system. Türkiye has made rapid progress in hospital management, medical technology, and health services in recent years. For Pakistan, this partnership can bring better hospitals, new technology, and more opportunities for medical tourism.
Türkiye has welcomed Pakistan’s efforts to improve its health system. This new step is expected to benefit patients in both countries and open doors for Pakistani doctors and hospitals to adopt international standards.
