Airblue Connects Lahore to Baku with New Route, Inaugural Flight Celebrated at Lahore Airport

by Mahnoor Arif

Airblue has launched a new international route connecting Lahore to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, making travel easier for passengers from Pakistan. The first flight took off from Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore and marked an important step in improving air links between the two countries.

A small ceremony was held at the airport to celebrate the inaugural flight. Airline staff arranged a cake-cutting event and shared gifts with passengers before departure. The event highlighted the airline’s focus on customer experience and smooth travel services.

The Lahore to Baku route will operate two times a week. This schedule is expected to support both tourism and business travel, as Azerbaijan has become a popular destination in recent years due to its modern city life, cultural sites, and visa-friendly policies for Pakistani travelers.

Baku is known for its mix of old and new, with historic areas like the Old City and modern landmarks such as the Flame Towers. Direct flights will save time for passengers who earlier had to travel through connecting routes.

Airblue continues to expand its international network to meet growing travel demand. The new route is likely to improve people-to-people connections and open more opportunities for tourism and trade between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
