Renowned Pakistani religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel has received an honorary doctorate from the American International Theism University (AITU), Florida, in recognition of his religious preaching, social reform and welfare services.
The honorary degree was presented during a special ceremony held in Lahore, where AITU Vice Chancellor Dr Ehab Al-Shami formally conferred the award on the prominent Islamic scholar. The ceremony was attended by people from different walks of life.
The university recognised Maulana Tariq Jameel for his longstanding contributions to religious guidance and preaching, along with his efforts to promote social improvement and humanitarian welfare.
Speaking after receiving the honour, Maulana Tariq Jameel expressed gratitude to Allah Almighty and described the honorary doctorate as recognition of collective efforts to spread the message of Islam, encourage positive social change and serve humanity.
He also thanked his teachers, colleagues, supporters, well-wishers and those who had remembered him in their prayers. He expressed hope that he would continue his religious and welfare work with sincerity and dedication.
The scholar has remained a prominent figure in Pakistan’s religious landscape for decades and is known for his lectures and preaching activities in Pakistan and abroad.
During the ceremony, his religious, welfare and preaching services were highlighted by speakers. His son, Yusuf Jameel, also addressed the gathering and praised his father’s contribution to religious service and humanitarian work.
The award adds another recognition to Maulana Tariq Jameel’s decades-long public religious career and highlights the international attention surrounding his preaching and welfare activities.
